James Campbell,
trombone
James
has recently returned to Sydney from Chicago, USA, where he has
lived for the last four years. In Chicago James was one of the region's
most sought after trombonists and teachers, performing with all
orchestras in the area, including the Chicago
Symphony, Lyric Opera Orchestra,
Milwaukee Symphony,
Ravinia Festival Orchestra,
Music of the Baroque, Chicago
Philharmonic and the Elgin
Symphony. He has worked with such conductors as Pierre Boulez,
Sieji Ozawa, Christophe Eschenbach, Christophe Dohnyani, Sir Andrew
Davis and Leonard Slatkin.
As
a chamber musician James has performed with the Chicago
Chamber Musicians, the Wisconsin
Brass Quintet and in recital with Michael Mulcahy, Gail Williams,
Charles Geyer, Barbara Butler and Gene Pokorny. Other career highlights
include performing at the Grand Teton
Music Festival and a 2002 Fellowship to the Tanglewood
Music Centre.
James
has held positions as lecturer at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison (2003-04), acting principal trombone of
the Tasmanian Symphony in Australia
(2001) and as faculty at the Music
Institute of Chicago. He has also appeared regularly with the
Sydney Symphony, West Australian Symphony and the Australian Opera
and Ballet Orchestra.
James has a Masters of Music from Northwestern
University where he studied with Michael Mulcahy and a Bachelor
of Music (Hons) from the Australian National University. He has
also studied privately with Jay Friedman, Charles Vernon, Joseph
Alessi, Nitzan Haroz and Steven Witzer.

Joshua Clarke, trumpet
Joshua
began his trumpet studies at the age of ten under the tutelage of
Valentine Malkov (formerly principal with Leningrad Philharmonic).
At
the age of 16 he began studying with Gordon Webb (formerly principal
with the London Philharmonic) and two years later, began a bachelor
of music degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of music.
During this period, Joshua worked as a casual musician with the
Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra as well as the Sydney Symphony
Orchestra.
In
2001 Joshua moved to the Canberra School of Music where he completed
a graduate degree under the guidance of Daniel Mendelow (currently
principal with the Sydney Symphony).
Following his graduation, Joshua was accepted to attend a summer
course in Banff called 'Forging a Career as a Soloist', and was
accepted as one of only three brass players internationally.
Recently,
Joshua has continued to perform regularly with the Sydney Symphony
Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Oz Opera, Malaysian
Philharmonic and this year was invited to play principal trumpet
with The Queensland Orchestra.

Peter Miller,
trumpet
Peter
is originally from Canberra, where he began learning the trumpet
at age nine, initially with Dominic Lindsay.
In
1999 Peter completed a Bachelor of Music with honors at the Canberra
School of Music where he studied with Dan Mendelow.
Following
this Peter traveled to the USA to continue his studies and broaden
his horizons. Whilst there his primary teachers were Michael Sachs
and James Darling both from the Cleveland Orchestra. In 2002 Peter
completed a Master of Music degree in Trumpet performance from the
Cleveland Institute of Music, and was awarded the Bernard Adelstein
performance prize. Following this Peter took up a position working
with the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra.
During
his travels Peter has had the opportunity to perform with such ensembles
as the Cleveland Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Canton Symphony
and the National Repertory Orchestra in the USA.
Within
Australia, Peter has worked with the Sydney Symphony, Australian
Chamber Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony and Australian Opera and Ballet
Orchestra and the Sydney Philharmonia amongst others.
He
is currently serving as acting Principal Trumpet with the Canberra
Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Australian Baroque Brass
and the Australian Brass Virtuosi. Peter is on staff at the Sydney
Conservatorium of Music and several other schools in Sydney.
